REGISTERED IMPORTERS January 4, 2011 Each of the following businesses has been approved as a Registered Importer (RI) of non-conforming motor vehicles for 2011. The listing, which is sorted by state, then alphabetically by business name, is periodically updated as new RIs are approved or existing RIs withdraw from business. You must remember that an RI is an independent business and may be selective in terms of the work it performs. To assist you in locating an RI that meets your needs, the listing is annotated to identify an RI's area of interest. Since the area of interest of an RI may change, this listing does not restrict the type of services that an RI may provide. This agency does not endorse or recommend any of the listed RIs, nor does it represent or guarantee your satisfaction with any work or service these RIs perform. Only an RI may import non-conforming vehicles for resale. If you would like to bring non-conforming vehicles into the United States for resale, you must become an RI. Instructions on becoming an RI can be found at http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import/HowtobecomeanRI.pdf. The responsibilities of an RI are specified in Title 49, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 592, "Registered Importers of Vehicles Not Originally Manufactured to Conform to the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards."

4. Willing to modify multipurpose passenger vehicles (e.g., vans, SUVs)

7. Willing to modify trailers
8. Willing to modify buses
9. Willing to modify motorcycles
10. Willing to petition NHTSA for an import eligibility determination
